    • Responsibe for decision making of the 107-bed long term acute care hospital.
    • Accountable for the management of all staff scheduling, hours per patient day (HPPD) and budget of overall departments including laboratory, hemodialysis, radiology, pharmacy, transportation, and rehabilitation. 
    • Managing executive for 120+ FTE’s as well as fostering beneficial relationships with physician groups and partnering hospital executives.
    • Creative resource utilization to maintain the finely tuned budget, as well as bring innovative ideas to further the financial growth of the organization.  
    • Accountable for development of policies and procedures, authoring the 2019 Provision Plan and execution of accountability strategies for staff.

    HALIFAX HEALTH HOSPITAL

    Rapid Response Nurse Team Manager/ Emergency Department Relief Nurse

    • Configure reports and statistics of all nursing departments for the Director of Critical Care pertaining to the 720-bed facility. Including Telemetry, Intensive Care Units, Emergency Rooms, Trauma, Medical/Surgical, and Obstetrics.

    • Manage and lead the Critical care team of 4 FTE’s and the entire 720-bed facilities nursing staff within each department.
    • Provide all areas with education, training and oversight of all acute and escalated care needs.
    • Relief Emergency, Trauma and Intensive Care RN.
    • Manage, assess, triage and treat patients that alert to certain triggers such as post-surgical, trauma, bleeding, chest pain, respiratory distress, unresponsive patients. Serve as a resource for other nursing staff as critical care need arise.
    • Administer all IV drip and push medications at a Critical care level.
    • Follow and execute standing orders and protocols for labs, x-rays, CTs, bi-pap or intubation as well as transferring critical patients to step down or ICU as warranted within the scope of practice.   
    • Trained to lead and direct the codes until the physician arrives. As well as, monitor the code for quality and offering suggestion as needed.
    • Respond to all critical events, visitor/employee emergencies, Traumas, STEMI's, and Strokes within the facility to make clinical decisions on what protocols to implement.

    A workplace should be a place you enjoy. If we are going to do it for 20+ years we should love it every day. Without fun and creativity work is just that... work. This adds to my low turnover record and nurse satisfaction.
